WHAT WILL GOD'S KINGDOM BE LIKE?Religion
Now as we look around us at the spiritual state of the world, we see many cultures, beliefs, and many churches. They can't all be right. We read that God's word is truth, there can only ever be one truth. It is a case of back to Bible teaching, sound doctrine as Paul calls it, nothing else will do! To further the great purpose of God, the confounding of language at the time of Babel will be undone for God promises:
The earth now is full of spiritual darkness, the peoples do not want to know, nor serve the Lord their God and Creator. Yet the time will come when as Isaiah says:
That shroud of spiritual darkness that envelops all nations will be lifted, the peoples of the earth will then serve the Lord their God with one accord:
It may be said the peoples will have no choice but to serve God under threat of punishment. However the justice of God's law will be undeniable and men will want to serve him. The spiritual darkness of the world will be lifted by the work of Christ and his people to the extent as we read:
Truly then shall at last as all true Christians pray, the Lord's will shall be done on earth as it is done in heaven. The prophet Ezekiel spoke of a great temple to be built, and at last it shall be built, to be a "House of prayer for all nations". All nations will go to that temple and indeed will desire to go. We read:
May that day soon come when the long absent Lord Jesus will at last return. The day when faith shall become reality, all the things God has promised springing into existence. Then those privileged to have a place in God's Kingdom, shall echo the words of the Psalms saying to the Lord God "A day in your courts is worth a thousand elsewhere". Well we have only briefly looked at some area's of life. But maybe we have been able to demonstrate how things will change. For those who truly love God and believe his word, they have every incentive to maintain hope bright and alive. The opening words of Hebrews 11 should make us stop and think about the faith we can have, the things we can hope for, the things we can believe in by faith. Even though they will not be a reality until Christ returns, they are so certain, God's word cannot fail. We read:
All God has spoken of in his word cannot fail, it will accomplish all he intends, it is as certain as the cycle of creation. Having faith in God's word is not impossible and what all the great men of old such as Abraham and David were commended for:
