The end of the Millennium
All these changes in the earth will bring about a wonderful time of peace such as has never been known before. The harmony that first existed between man and his Creator in Eden will be restored. The curse that came as a result of sin will be lifted and man; as the verses from Micah and Isaiah quoted above say; will return to an agricultural way of life. Because of Adam and Eve disobeying God, the Lord said:

"Cursed is the ground because of you, through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you and you will eat the plants of the field. by the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return" Genesis 3v17-19

We see so much of the truth of these words, in the day to day troubles we endure in this life. Yet in time to come God promises through Amos:

"The days are coming declares the lord, when the reaper will be overtaken by the ploughman and the planter by the one treading grapes". Amos 9v13

Further in Ezekiel we read God promises:

"I will call for the corn and will increase it and lay no famine upon you, and I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field." Ezekiel 36v39

So many areas of the world are desert land and wilderness, indeed one report says that the desert areas of the world are increasing rapidly each year by several hundred square miles. By the year 2,000 the earth will no longer be able to sustain it's growing population. Yet in the scriptures we get a wonderful view of what the earth will be like in the Kingdom:

bullet "The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendour of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendour of our God."........"Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs." Isaiah 35v1-2
bullet "Again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria; the farmers will plant them and enjoy their fruit."...."They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD--the grain, the new wine and the oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more." Jeremiah 31v5,12
bullet "Let corn abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. Let its fruit flourish like Lebanon; let it thrive like the grass of the field." Psalm 72v14.

Who could imagine the deserts of the world being a place of streams and pasture or bringing forth a crop. Who now could imagine crops growing even on the tops of mountains. But such will be the conditions in the Kingdom. Even nature will be at peace for we read:

"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra and the young child put his hand into the vipers nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11v6-9.

May that day soon come when the earth will be full of the glory of the Lord for that is the day when all our hopes will be fulfilled, and all these things come to pass.
