Faith can be defined as a conviction that God exists and is the Creator and ruler of all things. Faith is not blind, but based upon facts and experience. Faith defines man's relationship to God and His salvation. It includes the idea of trust and characterised the lives of faithful men and women from the beginning. The faith’ is that one pure gospel message that was believed and taught by the Apostles and early disciples. It is this simple faith that Jesus questioned if he would find at his return, a faith that Paul warns that many would turn away from. |
A parable is a brief, succinct story, intended to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson. Jesus often used parables not only to illustrate what He was saying and to get a point across, but also to make His hearers think. The sayings and parables of Jesus are not intended to be easily understood, but are designed to make us listen, think and learn. They must be understood in the context of what Jesus was saying and to whom He was speaking. |
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen... ...without faith it is impossible to please God". Hebrews 11:1, 6 |
